I’ve absolutely loved living in this apartment and couldn’t recommend it enough. From the moment I moved in, the building has felt like home. The apartment itself is spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed, and the location truly can’t be beat close to everything while still feeling comfortable and secure. Everything is well-maintained, and it’s clear how much care goes into the property. The amenities are a huge plus and make day-to-day living even better.Most of all, the leasing team deserves a huge shoutout. The leasing ladies are genuinely the sweetest and always so helpful, responsive, and welcoming. They make the entire experience seamless and stress-free. I’m so grateful to have found such a great place to live!

We’ve had an amazing experience living at Maddox! From day one, the team here has gone above and beyond to make sure residents feel welcomed, supported, and truly at home. Kaitlyn, Haley, and Sydney are absolutely incredible — always friendly, professional, and ready to help with anything you need. Whether it’s answering questions, assisting with paperwork, or just greeting you with a smile, they make the entire community feel warm and inviting. The maintenance staff is just as impressive. They respond quickly, fix issues the right way the first time, and are genuinely kind and respectful every time they come by. It’s clear they take pride in their work, and it shows. Overall, excellent staff, well-maintained units, and a team that truly cares. Highly recommend!

Been here for a little over a month, no issues! Great location, clean, free coffee. Far enough away from the main bulk of traffic, but still close enough to all the good spots. Better for a more low-key person who only likes to go out occasionally.

Kaitlyn was great in helping me move in a new apartment while not physically being at the property. I toured this property last year and on a whim decided to check the rates since my plans changed and I would need to reside in NC for another year. Everything was quick and easy. The ladies are also kind and match my sense of humor! I am just moving in so this is my experience so far. I'm sure it will stay the same.

This complex is nice and clean. The maintenance team is always quick to respond to issues and very nice! There is an app so you can use your phone to get in the front door and rail train entrance which is nice, but I wish it was available on all the entrances

We’ve been living at Maddox Southend for 18 months and, overall, have enjoyed our experience. The building is always clean, and the facilities are consistently in good condition. The staff are helpful, and the maintenance team, in particular, is always kind and quick to assist. That said, we’ve had an ongoing issue with our new neighbors directly above us. For the past few months, there’s been frequent noise, including what sounds like furniture moving and walking with heavy shoes, often late at night and early in the morning. We raised this concern back in December but never received a response. My wife also mentioned it to Melonie when the neighbors first moved in, but it was dismissed. We understand the issue may be due to poor sound insulation, but it has affected our comfort. Despite this, the friendly community and supportive staff still make Maddox Southend a pleasant place to live.

Good location! However you can see the wear and gear on the building. Everyone has been very friendly. The lighting fixtures in the building are either crooked or dirty. Most of the baseboards in common areas are very scuffed up. The finishes of the building scream one year rentals. Staff is nice and residents are friendly.

The application process was super easy and the background check / approvals are very quick. They always pick up the phone! The move in process was smooth and easy. No complications; there were a few maintenance hiccups, but they were fixed almost immediately.

It was solid. Just a standard apartment, not terrible but not worth 2k per month, especially when the elevators are consistently broken and the garage door malfunctioned, resulting in my car getting broken into. If I'm paying a premium in rent and extras like parking, I expect things like that not to happen

This is a great community. I feel safe living in this building with access cards to enter and exit the garage, your phone/key fob to enter the building and the amenities. Safety has never been a concern here and as a woman I LOVE that. Being close to the heart of South End is also amazing. Having the light rail a small walk away and being right on the rail trail makes exercising easy. The neighbors are all super friendly and it feels like a community in this building.

I like living here just because of the proximity to things. I work in uptown, so if I want to light rail to work it’s convenient. I have a dog too, and it’s a really friendly environment for dogs and accessible to walking either on the rail trail or in the sedgefield neighborhood.

90% of the time we love living here, since our new neighbours moved in about us it’s been so noisy in the mornings and evening. This was confirmed by our next door neighbour who mentioned the same thing. Probably the only thing keeping us from extending our lease.

Living at MAddox Southend had been pleasant. Located on the corner of south Blvd and Poindexter served as a great location it is accessible to the light rail, grocery stores, restaurants and entertainment. I have enjoyed living in this location for the last three years

Maddox is a great place to live in South End. Its location is good for getting to breweries and the light rail, as well as getting groceries at Harris Teeter. They do a decent job of maintaining the property even with so many pets running around. Prices are very high, but that is not exclusive to Maddox in this area. Overall a very good place to live and a nice staff in the front office.

I just signed a lease at Maddox South End, and the leasing assistants were SO helpful throughout the process! I spoke personally to Eliza -- she was also the assistant who took me on a tour of the property. She continued to stay in touch with me after the tour, sending me regular updates on openings and ensuring I find the best option. As I am getting ready for the move, she has been so great about answering all of my questions. Maddox's leasing assistants have been nothing but an amazing help, and I can't wait to move in!

This is a great place to live! Highly recommend it. Perfect location w Harris Tweeter across the street and many bars and restaurants a short walk away! The apartment building is pretty new and the fitness center is well equipped with everything I need for my weightlifting routine. Secure parking garage also.

Maddox is a nice, smaller niche community - which is great in the heart of South End and so many massive apartments surrounding it! The staff can be more attentive and the community is great. Units have nice amenities. Unfortunately the elevators & garage doors are constantly going out or breaking down. They make you pay for parking even though there’s hardly enough spots for people here! Good experience so far but could use some improvements

So far, everything about Maddox has been perfect for me. The leasing office is incredible and works with you, the community is clean, and everyone is involved!

Love the apartment complex! The amenities are amazing and Will probably resign at the same building! But Wishing elevators could be a little more reliable.

Amazing! Everything is great, I love the rooms in the Maddox and how great the staff is here. All the appliances are brand new and we never have any issues!

Pretty nice building with good amenities! I like the people and the environment. Wish there was more gym equipment but overall it’s been great!
